Chief Government spokesperson Dora Siliya narrowly escaped beating from University of Zambia students after attending the memorial service of Vespers Shimuzhila, the 4th year student in the school of education who died of suffocation during a protest last week.
The visibly annoyed students showered insults on Ms. Siliya for accusing some of them of being responsible for the death of the student when they started the riots.
Ms. Siliya was whisked away by some students.
And in a tweet, Ms. Siliya confirmed attending the funeral service which she said was calm except for a few drunk students who feel shouting unpalatables at government serves them well.
Meanwhile, Opposition UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema says it is unfortunate that some people are accusing him of wanting to gain political mileage from Vespers death.
